There are many pictures of Jesus that I do not particuarly like. In fact there are only a few images of Jesus that I believe capture even one or two aspects of what I think Jesus might have been like. This one looks as if Jesus is looking to the Father or perhaps listening to Him. He seems very calm and serene and comfortable in God's presence. You can see his figure glow from a subtle but very present light around him. It doesn't seem as if the light is coming down onto him, but rather that it is radiating from Him. As if his Father's presence were lighting Him from within.
I really like this painting. It's simple and portrays one simply being in the presence of God and listening.
